it works manually:

lxc exec $name -- /bin/bash
  dhclient
  ping google.com

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 has

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes

workaround: make sure that the container has an ip when installing
