Hi,
I'm trying to use the generated Kotlin classes in my Kotlin Multiplatform project.
I have this in sourceSets in build.gradle.kts:
val commonMain by getting {
dependencies {
implementation("pro.streem.pbandk:pbandk-runtime:0.10.0-beta.3")
}
}
But when I sync, I have this error:
Could not resolve pro.streem.pbandk:runtime-iosarm64:0.10.0-beta.3.

We don't currently publish iOS builds to Maven Central. See #88 for details. There is a pull request in progress to add iOS build to our CI system: #163. I haven't heard back from the original author in a few weeks. If you were interested in picking up and finishing the PR, I think it's pretty close to being complete.

Hi garyp, thanks a lot for the very detail instruction. I have successfully deployed the artifacts to my mavenLocal. I've declared the dependencies in the commonMain sourceSets as follow:

        val commonMain by getting {
            dependencies {
                implementation("com.google.protobuf:protobuf-gradle-plugin:0.8.12")
                implementation("pro.streem.pbandk:pbandk-runtime:0.10.0")
            }
        }

But in the generated .kt files, I have a bunch of errors such as:

Unresolved reference: Export
Unresolved reference: JsName

What am I missing?

It looks like you're trying to compile Kotlin code that was generated with a version of protoc-gen-kotlin from pbandk's master branch against the 0.10.0 version of pbandk-runtime. You need to regenerate your Kotlin code using version 0.10.0 of the pbandk protoc plugin.

By the way, while not related to the errors you're seeing, if you're using protobuf-gradle-plugin then the protobuf-gradle-plugin dependency should be in your buildscript dependencies and not in the commonMain dependencies.

Yes, the .kt files were generated by the script from master branch.
I actually tried with the protoc-gen-kotlinof 0.10.0 with the following command:
protoc *.proto --kotlin_out=kotlin_package=mypackage:/generated/kotlin/
but I have this error --kotlin_out: DataCharacteristic.proto: Unknown generator option: kotlin_package

That was why I had to try with protoc-gen-pbandk with the follow command:
protoc *.proto --pbandk_out=kotlin_package=mypackage:/generated/kotlin/

Could you tell me how can I make it works with protoc-gen-kotlinof 0.10.0 and still be able to specify the package name?

Ah, you're probably running a new version of protoc that broke pbandk 0.10.0. We just released pbandk 0.11.0 a few days ago that should work with the latest protoc versions. Can you try running protoc with protoc-gen-pbandk v0.11.0 together with using v0.11.0 of pbandk-runtime in your dependencies?
