Currently, only Prometheus sink is supported to report lag metrics. It could be generalized to have the sink extensible and configurable at runtime, so that it's gives ability to develop custom reporters to push the metrics to different datasources.

When graphite support was added (#114) we re-factored the internals to make it easier to extend and add different sinks.
