I couldn't deliver this theme as-is to my client and still sleep at night. So I rebooted it for Jekyll 3 support, client editing in CloudCannon and fixed the FOUC (mostly).

While I was in there I also:

  • DRY'd up the social links a la the Urban template (but using FontAwesome)
  • Improved SEO with Jekyll SEO tag gem
  • Added sitemap gem for, well, a sitemap
  • Added feed gem for web feed support (accessible by social links)
  • Added a 404 page for those moments when you derp
  • Added a robots.txt file
  • Updated the README to look less threatening
  • Copypasta'd the LICENSE and most of the code from the hugo version to update the CSS and scripts
  • Ditched the Sass files (would like to see them added back someday)

@JHabdas We're no longer maintaining these HTML5 UP themes. Happy to transfer them to you if you're interested in maintaining.

Thanks for the note (and the merge!) @mneumegen. The only HTML5 UP theme I'm maintaining right now is the reload of Strata as I have a client using it. I'd consider taking the others, but I'm not too keen on it personally given the CC licensing structure (I'd much rather be maintaining MIT).

To help keep these themes up-to-date, it might be worthwhile to consider creating a community-driven group similar to https://github.com/react-native-community and appointing a small number of individuals to care for the themes without bogging down your operations too much.
