This means they can be called with an empty argument expression. Additionally, you can define the default value for when the parameters are called with an empty expression. When a parameter is added as an optional parameter, updating the parameter mappings is also optional. This means you can effectively use the optional parameters to easily add new parameters without having to update all of your calling microflows/nanoflows/pages.
