Hi,

In current Firefox 29 (Australis), Livereload button is duplicated and one of them can't be remove from the "customize" menu.
Seems you must remove the "nav-bar" item in browser.xul to remove this button

It doesn't work for me either. Firefox 29, Australis interface, Windows 8.1. The button doesn't seem to do anything and I can't move it to toolbars. It's fixed to the right of the menu button.
