Describe the bug
I have install Flamshot on 2 Windows compute and PrintScreen key work on 1 compute but not working on other compute.
Any Idea why doesn't work ?
Where i can found log on Windows ?

There is not really a log at this point. My guess is another program on windows is using the print screen hotkey.

I am having this same issue. I have nothing installed on my computer using the print screen hotkey other than Windows itself. There is a feature enhancement request to register a different key for the trigger, but there has been no action on it as of yet.

I have the same issue since a few release now on both Win10Pro and Win11Pro.
If it helps to further debug I use a QWERTZ layout

I cant replicate this. I just tried on flameshot 11 + windows 11.

Edit: to test I used the on screen keyboard because my keyboard does not have an actual printscreen key.

"Prt sc" hotkey not working in Flameshot 11
OS: Windows 10 Pro

Note that: Uninstall Flameshot v11 and Install v0.10.2 solved the issue instantly

I have a similar issue, but my exact issue is that I'm getting the built in tool in Windows when I press PrintScreen, instead of Flameshot. I've tried setting Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\PrintScreenKeyForSnippingEnabled to 0, set Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\TabletPC\DisableSnippingTool to 1, and uninstall "Snip and Sketch" via the Microsoft Store.

Perhaps this is a different issue than the one in this topic.

I think this was exactly the issue reported. I followed your steps to uninstall the Snip tool and PrintScreenKey.. to 0. I did not have a TabletPC folder in Policies so I left it. Relaunched Flameshot and viola! Thank you friend!

@cvalentin-dkt I wonder if you still have this issue with v12.1.0 lately. I would be thankful if you can update us on this.

I was able to fix this but right clicking on OneDrive => Settings => Backup => Uncheck "Automatically save screenshots I capture to OneDrive". I also had to quit flame shot and start it up.

You may also need to disable screen snipping in your Windows Settings => Ease of Access => Keyboard => Scroll down to "Print Screen Shortcut":

In case anyone is still having trouble with Flameshot "Prt sc" hotkey not working. This previous solution worked for me and to elaborate more on this, it does not require downgrading to an older version of the software. The solution worked for me and may be helpful for others who are still experiencing the issue.

  1. Uninstall Flameshot (if you have it installed)
  2. Disable the Print Screen shortcut
  3. Download and install the preferred version of Flameshot from GitHub (I used Flameshot-12.1.0-win64.msi)

I only tested this with the newest versions of Flameshot (v12.1.0, v12.0.0, v11.0.0), but it could be worth a try if you're having trouble with an older version.

Hope this helps!

I can confirm that by deleting and re-installing the app "prt sc" works as it should.

Yea, can also confirm, but only worked after i followed @mishafeingold suggestion of disabling onedrive screenshot settings (just disabling the snipping tool default was not enough)

I have discovered a hack for this issue:-
OS:- Windows

  1. Uninstall Flameshot completely.
  2. Toggle off the shortcut key for prnt screen in Accessibility > Keyboard settings

image

  1. Reinstall Flameshot and finish setup now it should work perfectly.

Print-Scr button dont work , tested all the solution above - no help.

Why i cannot bind this action to any shortcuts i used to ?
For example i used tp CTRL+R from lightshot, i want to set it here, but no :(
Well...anyway - any other solutions? Now i just search for Flameshot button in taskbar this is sad story

Same here: I turned off stuff in OneDrive and Windows 11, uninstalled and reinstalled Flameshot, and PrintScreen still doesn't work.

UPDATE: After a reboot, I pressed PrintScreen again. A dialogue window by OneDrive popped up asking if I wanted to save my screenshots in OneDrive, to which I answered NO. Then I closed Flameshot and opened it again, and the PrintScreen key has been working ever since!

Windows 11 here, had a similar issue. Pressed it once, had a One Drive dialogue, to which I replied "No". Print screen didn't work for Flameshot.

Uninstalled "Snip and Sketch", didn't have the registry entries. Relaunched Flameshot. That fixed it.

What might be missing this thread is that you might need to restart your computer after deactivating windows print screen before flame starts to work properly

as you can see guys, I am not able to change shortcut key combinations for last 5 options:
-quit capture
-screenshot history
-capture screen
-screenshot color picker
-change the tool's size

Does anyone have any idea why I can't change these options?
