Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Element desktop (Windows)
  2. Click search bar
  3. Search for #helix-community:matrix.org
  4. Click to join
  5. Get error message?

Outcome

What did you expect?

I thought I'd be able to join the room.

What happened instead?

I got a crash report which asked me to submit debug logs.

Operating system

Windows 11 22H2

Application version

Element 1.11.5.0

How did you install the app?

No response

Homeserver

matrix.org

Yes

Hello @hanskokx . Did it directly crash or after some time with the „joining“ message displayed?

@hanskokx I am closing this in favour of element-hq/element-meta#1383 . It is the same issue. You specific problem with the error message is described in 3. . Thanks for reporting anyway.
