The package includes the following data:

  • Lesions: 131 real lesion maps in Nifti format (courtesy of the Moss Rehabilitation Institute, thanks to Myrna Schwartz, Laurel Buxbaum, Erica Middleton). Lesions are derived either from MRI or from CT through manual segmentation under the supervision of a neurologist with 30 years of experience (H. Branch Coslett). All lesion maps are in ch2 (Cholin27) MNI space.
  • Behavior: a vector of 131 simulated behavioral scores. These scores are not real, they are simulated from area 101 of the ch2 parcellation template.
  • Template: the ch2 template which can be used to overlay the results of provided data. A more generic, better, template is added since v0.0.0.9004 (MNI152_ICBM2009c). This template can be used for your future studies, and is adopted by default when you use registerLesionToTemplate(). Note, the ch2 and the MNI152_ICBM2009c templates are slightly different and do not have overlapping gyri/sulci. Don't get confused by the term "MNI" which is associated with both templates.
  • Parcellation: 403 functional areas in ch2 space. The areas are created by combining atlases of cortical gray matter (Glasser 2016), sbcortical nuclei (Fan 2016), and white matter tracts (Hua 2008). The parcellation atlas can be used to simulate deficit rising from the lesion of specific brain regions.
