Protect Individual Studies from getting Expired

Overview

One may protect Study/Series from expiration date updates, by permanently setting them as FROZEN and No Expiration Date in one of the following ways :

• Study Retention Policy triggered on C-Store

• Apply Retention Policy

• HL7 Triggered Expire Studies

• Using Update Study Expiration Date with path parameter expirationDate=never.

• Protecting studies/series also ensures that these will not be picked by Reject Expired Studies.

Note :

• Using Update Series Expiration Date with path parameter expirationDate=never to protect series is not allowed.

Configuration

Configure one or more Study Retention Policy or HL7 Study Retention Policy based on one's requirements.

In order to be able to freeze the expiration date of studies/series, set the Freeze Expiration Date to True and Revoke Expiration Date to True.

Verification

• Based on any of the triggers used as mentioned in Expire Studies, protect studies/series.
• Using the archive UI, see Study Expiration State as FROZEN set in the private attributes. Notice that there is no value for Study Expiration Date, this means that it is null (or = Not Set). This ensures that now the study is FROZEN permanently.

• Similarly verify also on Series level.
