Since this extension is deprecated by Mozilla in favour of a new extension which is being developed, installation is not as trivial as opening the extension on firefox. The preferred extension tested to work with Firefox Nightly 96 on Windows 10 is firefox-translations-<version>.xpi.

Installation Instructions

For unsigned xpi's built via GitHub CI or locally by a developer, additional config preferences apply:

Make sure that the following preferences are set to true in about:config:

• extensions.experiments.enabled
• javascript.options.wasm_simd
• javascript.options.wasm_simd_wormhole

Make sure that the following preferences are set to false in about:config:

• xpinstall.signatures.required
