Using powerlevel10k_rainbow.omp.json (adding to it the Java sample configuration) in WSL I don't see any versions:

I expected to see them on the right hand side instead of the black checkmark.

Installed Oh My Posh manually with:

@lackovic two things though. Fetching versions needs to he enabled by fetch_version, and they are never evaluated in the home folder unless when home_enabled is set to true. Additionally, without language files, it also not display unless the display_mode is always.

I added the following lines to Java and Node configurations of my theme:

That fixed the issue:

How come on Windows that works without those lines?

Should I submit a request somewhere to get the powerlevel10k_rainbow.omp.json updated with the necessary lines?

@lackovic windows has the exact same logic. We're not changing themes anymore, you can customize a copy and reference that.

@JanDeDobbeleer I am using the same powerlevel10k_rainbow.omp.json theme file both in Windows PowerShell and on WSL Ubuntu. This theme has only fetch_version:

under the node segment (see here). In Windows PowerShell the node version is displayed, in WSL Ubuntu not. See the following screenshot:
