Where to Begin? Day 00 of the 90 days of web. Getting to undertand what the internet is, how and why it came around and the have a high level view of how it works

Intro

The internet is widely used today by averagely about 82% of the universe. I thought for a moment, how would life be in this century without the internet ? And felt so complelled to understand how it works.

Wrapping up

  • The internet is an interconectivity of many networks
  • The internet came about as a research project of the APARNET for military use in the US, then it was adopted to connect major universities in the 1970's
  • The internet is not owned or regulated by anyone or any organizations. Some organizations like the IEFT and ICANN are however responsible for standardization in of the internet.
