- The internet is an interconectivity of many networks
- The internet came about as a research project of the APARNET for military use in the US, then it was adopted to connect major universities in the 1970's
- The internet is not owned or regulated by anyone or any organizations. Some organizations like the IEFT and ICANN are however responsible for standardization in of the internet.
