If I place it down and then attach a cable it says not enough channels, and if I break a block next to it, it finally says it works but placing it directly on a cable makes it break.

I looked at the code a bit, and I'm wondering why the securityBreak() method in src/main/java/nz/co/mirality/storage4computercraft/integration/ae2/MEPeripheralTile.java gets called when i'm the one that placed the security station.
Hopefully you can investigate this.
I'm using Storage for ComputerCraft version 1.3.1 and Applied Energistics 2 version 8.4.5 in 1.16.5
