Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe

Stack overflow, Google, etc. discuss a "middleware.js" file but I can't find anything official on the Storybook site.

It seems like something I'm interested in using, but I'm unsure if it's considered a stable part of the public interface, if it is subject to breaking changes without semver update, etc.

Looking through more issues, #208 (comment) from @shilman sets expectations for middleware.js.

Hey @petermikitsh -- yeah that comment is pretty much still valid. middleware.js is an intentionally undocumented API that we are not promoting. That said, the APIs haven't changed in years and are still working and used by a bunch of different projects so ... if it seems to fit your use case YMMV.
