This has been fixed since the 2.6.0 release, see: https://github.com/tweetstream/tweetstream/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md#version-260

Also, the referenced issue has been closed.

I'm not sure what your current stance is on using TweetStream, but 2.0.0 compatibility seems to no longer be an issue.

Thanks for this patch. To be clear, the intent of these statements was never to badmouth TweetStream. In fact, I have contributed many patches to TweetStream and the primary maintainer of TweetStream (@spagalloco) has contributed many patches to this library.

A while ago, Steve and I decided that it would be better to have a single Ruby library for interacting with Twitter, so we worked to unify these two codebases. Overall, I’m happy with the progress of this unification effort but it is not yet complete. TweetStream still does a few things better than this library (e.g. error handling, reconnect handling, adding users to a stream without disconnecting). While I would like to see those features added to this library, until they are, I’m happy for people to use TweetStream if it better suits their needs.

👍 what @sferik said. Erik and I are in full agreement on the direction of these libraries.
