Red isn't very visible on a purple background. Maybe the text color could be changed to black to increase the contrast instead:

Red isn't very visible on a purple background. - That is indeed true, but both the current color and #c40 have very low contrast levels compared to the purple background. An idea could be to turn the orange into a bright yellow and make the text black

This is SO much better than purple on red.
