Similar to #16 but additionally ~python

EDIT: Appeared in a GitHub action log at some point, but I was not smart enough to capture build failures...

Only evidence of this that I can find is in the GitHub action that was disabled in #21, so once that spack pipeline works again we can close this

Concluded that this was just due to spack not importing os. Will re-enable build in future PR
