p-dropdown Value not patching in related formcontrolname

[TechMARK-1978]

<p-dropdown [options]="societyList" formcontrolName="societyId"
      placeholder="Select a Society" appendTo="body" optionLabel="nam" [editable]="false"
      [filtre]="true" optionValue="id" [showClear]="true"
      tabIndex="3">
  </p-dropdown>

societyId is my formcontrol name optionvalue should patch with it but its not doing so
