NetBox version

v3.7.4

Feature type

Data model extension

Proposed functionality

Currently, it is possible to add custom fields to power ports and power outlets, but not to power port templates and power outlet templates.

Use case

Keeping track of DC power supply voltages. My company's lab has a lot of access network equipment that runs on -48V DC and we're using NetBox primarily as a way to document our cable spaghetti. It would be very useful if we can keep track of all our DC power supplies, their voltage, possibly their max amperage etc. I think this would also benefit users who work with a lot of small equipment like NUCs or DC powered switches or hobbyist home users. The ability exists for the instances of the ports, why not include them in the template as well?
