"Firefox Private Network needs your attention" after waking sleeping laptop

When I wake my sleeping MacBook Pro in the morning, FPN's toolbar icon sometimes has a toast warning with a yellow badge and message saying "Firefox Private Network needs your attention". Right now, FPN's toolbar menu has a message saying "Firefox Private Network encountered an unknown issue. Try turning it off, then on again."

My hunch is that my MBP is slow to connect to my home Wi-Fi network and FPN is overeager to report a network problem. After waiting a few seconds without doing anything, FPN seems to be working fine and Firefox (Nightly 73) can load pages fine. OTOH, I also reported FPN issue #760 where FPN can never connect to the network when waking my sleeping MBP or Windows laptop and Firefox can't load any pages (or check for updates) until I turn FPN off and back on.

I also see this "Firefox Private Network needs your attention" warning momentarily every time I switch Wi-Fi networks at my home. I'm using FPN version 2.
