Do you guys have any plans to add an official docker image for Alpine Linux users?

It's not hi in our priorities, but we might have it some time in future. For now, we'd be happy to refer to a third-party image, if there's one!

This would require a special build for musl libc. It would be great to have though.

Edit: the Alpine team maintains a Chromium build in their aports tree, it requires quite some patches though that are not upstreamed (yet): https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports/-/tree/master/community/chromium

Edit 2: there is an great Docker image with Playwright support now, see: https://github.com/Zenika/alpine-chrome#how-to-use-with-playwright

Possible? Yes. Will it ever happen? No idea, you should ask MS / the Playwright team like @aslushnikov 😄

@aslushnikov is this something your team considered? 🥲

There are no plans for Alpine support so far as of Dec 2022!

Hey everybody!

There's now an experimental support for all linux distributions using our browser container image mcr.microsoft.com/playwright.
If you can run this container image on your linux distribution, then you can instruct @playwright/test to connect to it and run browsers inside the container.

Please give it a try and let us know what you think here: #26482
