Manual test list

There are plenty of cases, which can not be tested easily in automated UI tests. We need to check all cases on the specified platforms. Please comment below, what you can confirm that it is (still) working or broken with the current release candidate. Also please report all regressions you can find.

    • Sending and downloading files/images works

    • Test if the app lock works as intended and appears on opening/resuming the app

    • Sending and downloading files works

How to join the public beta

iOS and iPadOS

You can install the latest release candidate of FluffyChat by using TestFlight:

https://testflight.apple.com/join/fhMtOXc0

Please note: Apple reviews all apps in public TestFlight manually. This can take several days so the new version might not be out yet at the time you see this post.

Android

PlayStore

You can join the public beta program in the PlayStore:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/chat.fluffy.fluffychat

Please note: Google reviews all apps in the PlayStore Beta track manually. This can take several days so the new version might not be out yet at the time you see this post.

F-Droid

You can use our own F-Droid repository which always contains the last release candidates. You are also able to use the nightly repo to use the latest builds from the main branch:

https://gitlab.com/famedly/fluffychat/-/blob/main/docs/fdroid_repo.md

Linux Desktop (including Linux Phones)

You can just use the candidate channel of our Snap version:

https://snapcraft.io/install/fluffychat/ubuntu

Also the edge channel contains the latest builds from main if you like.

Web

At the moment, the web version is always built from main anyway.
