Feature request: Enable phone nr based sign up

Feature request to enable the simplest type of sign up of all, phone nr based! Like WhatsApp and telegram and signal do. With SMS code confirmation.

plus then to find contacts in your phone contact list, again like WhatsApp etc

This is possible with federated messengers, see for example quicksy.im. I would use Quicksy, except it is not cross platform.

So atm there is still not a cross platform federated messenger that supports phone nr based sign up and finding contacts in your phone contacts list. I think this is a must if we are to convince the mainstream to switch to federated messenging!
