Problem Statement

Currently, Super Productivity does not allow tasks to be organized efficiently based on specific time blocks (pre-work, during work, post-work, etc.). This can be frustrating for users who work rotating shifts or have variable daily routines, as they need to manually reorganize their tasks whenever their schedules change.

❔ Possible Solution

Implement a feature that allows:

  1. Assigning tasks an attribute or tag that links them to a specific time block (pre-work, during work, post-work, etc.).
  2. Grouping tasks by time blocks and moving them as a unit to adapt to different work schedules or routines.
  3. Automatically adjusting task schedules when switching between shifts (morning, afternoon, or night), simplifying the rescheduling process.

For example: A user on an afternoon shift could move all tasks in the post-work block to 10:00 PM with a single adjustment, while on a morning shift, those same tasks could be reorganized to 4:00 PM.

⤴️ Describe alternatives you've considered

  1. Using the existing projects feature to organize tasks, but this does not allow tasks to be easily tied to time blocks or moved as a group.
  2. Managing tasks manually, adjusting each one individually based on the work shift, which is inefficient.

➕ Additional context

This feature would improve flexibility and efficiency for users with dynamic schedules, such as those working in rotating shifts. Additionally, it aligns with the program's purpose of simplifying task management in any context.

Thank you very much for opening up this issue! I am currently a bit overwhelmed by the many requests that arrive each week, so please forgive me, if I fail to respond personally. I am still very likely to at least skim read your request and I'll probably try to fix all (real) bugs if possible and I will likely review every single PR being made (please, give me a heads up if you intent to do so) and I will try to work on popular requests (please upvote via thumbs up on the original issue) whenever possible, but trying to respond to every single issue over the last years has been kind of draining and I need to adjust my approach for this project to remain fun for me and to make any progress with actually coding new stuff. Thanks for your understanding!
