Sometimes I don't want to index the external HDDs I have connected
Sometimes I want to index some files which match some pattern

I want to scan my home directory, but that includes a virtual filesystem which only physically consumes a few GB, but appears to be larger than my hard drive, and takes tens of minutes to scan.
