integrating python libraries into dpg windows

Hello!
I would like to use dpg as a graphical wrapper for a python program I have written. is it possible to call say, a m,atplotlib plot from dpg and have the plot window appear inside the dpg viewport (like a normal dpg window) and then modify the output of plot using dpg buttons?
If such a thing is possible, are there any [simple] examples to give an idea of where to get started?
