twittering-mode occasionally replaces buffer contents with "-- Press Enter here to update --"

I've had this multiple times now, I think there's a race condition in twittering mode. This has happened with fairly important buffers (it used to just happend with scratch if twittering-mode was activated at startup).

I'll try and dive deeper into this, but it seems to happen if I run twit and quickly switch to another buffer.
