As you can see all decorations and imges are gone and there are block at the top with information from tGS about this tab. Is it possible to make it show the page on the screenshot as-is with all the decorations and pictures? Is it possible to hide that block at the top or make it as overlay instead of pushing screenshot of the page down to avoid content from jumping when suspended tab will be replaced with the real one?

BTW, I'm totally sure it's possible to make such screenshots. At least this extension is capable to do so: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/awesome-screenshot-captur/alelhddbbhepgpmgidjdcjakblofbmce

Chrome does provide a nice way of taking screenshots, however that API can only be used for capturing the currently visible tab. Whereas in this extension, I need to be able to capture the contents of a tab that may not be visible.
The glitches you are seeing in the image are due to the limitations of the library I use to do the screen capturing (html2canvas).

Well, ok but at least could you please make that top bar removable?

may be use that api for not visible tabs, but use other api for tabs that user suspends by "suspend this tab"?
with this suggestion #217
it may become nice setup for off-line reading! (i think everyone has those unpleasant situations. or even anticipate them and want to be prepared)

As I understood from deanoemcke (look at his comment above) Chrome doesn't provide good screenshot API for the background pages. Also, I'm not sure that taking a screenshot to support an offline view is a good idea. We already have Instapaper, PageArchiver and a few other extensions for this purpose and they save the entire page instead of a screenshot of that page. So, you can select and copy text and use links when you are online. If I'm not mistaken ZipWeb is even capable to crawl a few links in depth and save them as well.

So, I wonder is it possible to save a page at the background if taking a screenshot of it is not an option?
