Esc key does not reset captured abbreviation

When I write an abbreviation that is captured by Emmet and there's also a Sublime Text snippet available, I should be able to press the Esc key to reset Emmet capture and expand the ST snippet with the Tab key.
Instead, when I press Esc the underline disappears, but if i press Tab, it still writes Emmet's expanded code.
For esample, the html keyword. See video below.
I'm using ST version 3.2.2 (3211) and Emmet version 2.3.2
