Do dependent models need to be re-built in a Full Refresh?

I have models that are built into production. These models rely on Intermediary models to offload some of the transformation complexity. When running a DBT full refresh, can I exclude these intermediary models and only run my production models? Or do dependent models need to be included each time? The logic in these intermediaries does not change.
