Fixture not found on retry

Hello! We are having trouble implementing retries on our cypress project, it fails when it tries another attempt, specifically when trying to load the fixture. We have code that loads the fixture in the BeforeEach like so:

beforeEach(() => {
        cy.fixture('testData.json').then(data => {
            username = data.username;
            password = data.password;
        });
    });

But the test fails at the beforeEach.

here's the error printed to the console:

Is this a bug? Am i missing a configuration to make this work?
