Summary

SMB connection problem

System Setup

  • iOS: 18.0.1
  • Cryptomator: 2.6.3 (1273)
  • Wd My Cloud: WDBCTL0020HWT-EESN

Cloud Type

Other File Provider

Steps to Reproduce

Here’s a revised version with minor wording adjustments:

  1. Open the Files app -> Tap the three dots -> Connect to Server -> Enter smb:// server address -> Connect.
  2. Open Cryptomator -> Add Vault -> Open Existing Vault -> Other File Provider -> Select the vault from the previously connected server.

First Problem:
3. Disconnect from Wi-Fi or disconnect the server from the Files app.
4. Reconnect to Wi-Fi or connect to the server again (repeat step 1).
5. Try to open the previously defined vault.
Issue: Cannot connect.

Second Problem:
3. Open the Photos app.
4. Select any photo -> Move photo to Files -> Choose the vault.
Issue: Encounter an error.

Expected Behavior

First issue: Cryptomator should remember the connection and automatically reconnect after the server becomes available again.
Second issue: Photos should be saved directly into the vault.

Actual Behavior

First issue: Unable to connect to the vault.
Second issue: Photos are not being saved to the vault.

Reproducibility

Always
