change the chooser so it links to license translation in same language as chooser #492
Comments
So, larger question for you... given that 4.0 is a translation, does it make more sense for 4.0 to show you the language you read vs the language of the creative behind the work? |
So, I was misremembering. The chooser links to the deed, not the legal code. Because of that, seems to me we should link to the same language as the chooser if we have a deed translation. The existence (or not) of an official translation doesn't actually matter. Sorry for confusing things. |
Sarah and I will be discussing this next Wednesday. Let me know if it's more pressing. |
Passing back to you until there's more detail. |
I raised with Sarah that the chooser doesn't go to any legal code, only the deed (and she then noted that last week on this thread). It's on our 1:1 agenda for today to discuss, then we'll post something more here. |
Right now, when you view the license chooser page in a language like Finnish for which we have an official translation, the chooser still links to the English version of the license.
Is it possible to change that so it links to the official translation in that same language? This is not a super high-priority, but seems like something we should eventually fix if we can.
