What is the difference between "green coding" and "reducing the operation costs"? Does green coding for instance include implementing a statistical function that applications in predicting the outcomes of extreme weather events?

@jorenham Fair question; most scenarios reducing footprint is also equal to reducing operational cost (less CPU, etc), so might be ambiguous. I would say changes related to e.g. moving software to a different data center in colder regions for less climate impact (this happens to be a decision we took for part of our code - which is slightly more expensive, but less CO2).

moving software to a different data center in colder regions for less climate impact

so this mostly covers updates to configuration then 🤔
