Does the Countdown Timer plugin still work with 4.7.0?

I just discovered this plugin today and want to create a timer that overlays ontop of a video. I followed the readme exactly and I cant seem to get the user variable to update (I see it on screen). I am new to brightauthor so I may have missed something critical, but can anyone confirm that this plugin works with 4.7.0?

I'm having the same problem with this plugin. I've followed the readme instructions but it does not work. I'm using BSA 4.7.2.5
