Original issue 60 created by brazilofmux on 2006-09-09T04:51:29.000Z:

Is it possible to cannibalize code from the @mail code that would allow
players to line edit attributes? For the sake of argument, @vi me/desc...
you are editing attribute 'desc'. use - <blah> to update. Then @vi/wq in
the place of @mail/send. This would likely appease many people who look for
an editor in MUX, it would provide one with an interface that is consistant
and familiar to existing users, and would be minimally invasive (as opposed
to something softcoded with @program). Obviously the cost/benefit ratio of
this depends on how isolated the existing code is, and how difficult it
would be to retrofit it with the necessary attribute ownership/permissions
checking. Example command names are of course tongue in cheek.
