Try looking at the fitted rho parameter. Is it over 0.6 or so? Try fixing it to be higher. Could also try higher order autoregressive processes e.g. AR(p) for p > 1 https://inla.r-inla-download.org/r-inla.org/doc/latent/ar.pdf

Got a question about this during talk. Could try other temporal models. Might want to include plot of rho parameter posterior in appendix to show it's not significant.
