The Markdown package has many soft and hard dependencies, which are currently only listed in the technical documentation. This makes it more difficult to install the Markdown package with non-full TeX Live schemes and to create minimal Docker images with the Markdown package. This may also potentially break other distributions such as MikTeX that install packages on-demand, i.e. this is potentially related to #458.
