It would be nice to have something similar to the /v3/taxonomy/taxon_info service that gave information not only for OTT but for a variety of taxonomies, e.g. all the OTT source taxonomies (NCBI, GBIF, etc.). I've been accessing these either on the web or (when I care about the particular version) using grep. Both of these approaches have issues.

Are there any IP issues with serving external taxonomies through our API?
