Nix is tricky to uninstall, and once it gets into a broken state it's difficult to fix it.

Would be good if we could install/uninstall nix using brew. 🙏

Alternate solution is perhaps to improve the installer, for which the installer working group has work in progress.
Is that tracked in an issue?

@roberth There isn't a tracking issue, but the last few updates in the Nix installer workgroup thread on discourse cover the basics.

Tom did (coincidentally?) bring up some experiments Flox has done around using brew formulae in the way my comment below discussed (i.e., an installer installer) and for uninstall.

I don't have much sense of whether any UX leverage there would be meaningful if the Rust installer is adopted, though.
