When Airport has been removed from network preferences and a scan on Airport is started, program goes through the motions of scanning, but finds no networks. This is better than the crashing it was doing before, but it should display a message as to the problem and not start the scen.
When an RTL8187 scan is started without the adapter plugged in, there is a dialog and the scan does not start. The message seems to have the word (null) where it should say RTL8187, e.g. "Kismet was able to load the driver backend for (null), but it was unable to create an interface...."
