If only absolute measurement (=scaling 1) are used, the observables/experiments still need to be listed in expgroups_scaling and obsgroups_scaling. Either this should be checked when setting the option or the scaling initiliazed with ones (but need to check whether everything else still works correctly then). Also need to add this it in the explanation/documentation.
