Mission planning CIRCLE mode #212
Comments
There is some work done at #213 |
It looks like a lot of the potential work has been completed with the new waypoint draw feature. |
What about selecting the circle button, then you try to draw the path of a I can generate the circle by extracting the center point by making a mean What do you think its better?

I wonder if there is the opportunity to have more than mode based on a circular flight path. One button for POI (Point of Interest). This could allow you to select a single point on a map, once you tap the map, leaving your finger on the screen and "dragging away" could set the Radius. A perfect circle is then formed allowing the craft to fly around the circumference, but in this mode its 'nose in' to the POI. Great for POI filming. I believe this is how the normal CIRCLE mode is used in Mission Planner. If there was a single tap in POI mode with no dragging out to set radius, the UAV could hold its position but rotate on its axis nose out for panoramic photography / filming. Normal CIRCLE mode could be similar in setting a centre and radius, but the UAV flys the path of the circle with the nose following the circumference. Could even set a clockwise and anticlockwise attribute. |
Can you do this in Mission Planner? If so can you give me some extra details, maybe an screenshot? Now that I think about it your idea seams better. I'll take a look if I can draw a circle while you are drawing, that would help a lot. |
done. #790 |
Add a mode where missions can be generated by drawing a circle.
If you set a Waypoint, you can define it as a POI. You could then have the option to set a radius and the app then defines however many waypoints depending on your radius. Would be superb for aerial photography and filming.
